Tekken vs. Street Fighter – Which is better?

It all depends on what you’re looking for, really.

If you have check out DIRECTV, then you’ve no doubt seen ads on television for both fighting game franchises. And sure, while fighting games might all sort of blend together in one digital mess, these two titles are far from similar.

But which is better?

Some would say that Street Fighter is superior because of the level of dedication required to master it and dispatch other skilled players. Street Fighter also has more variety in terms of fighters and the different play styles you can employ with each.

However, those who would stand by Tekken would argue that it is the simplicity of the gameplay that makes it more accessible and more fun. You really don’t have to spend hours mastering a technique or a move set like you would with Street Fighter to play competently.

But does that really make Tekken better? Because it’s easier to win?

Street Fighter seems to promote a health challenge with an exceptional learning curve when it comes to the big leagues while Tekken prefers to take it easy on its players. In the end, it depends on what kind of experience you are looking for.

While Tekken may be just as rewarding as Street Fighter, those rewards seem to come a little easier. Some might call these “low-hanging fruits.”
